We love any excuse to get behind the camera, but getting to photograph families from our own kids’ school makes it even more special!
In 2024, Danielle and I were excited to participate in a fundraiser for Hopkinson Elementary, where both of our kids attend school. We hosted two days of family mini sessions, giving Hopkinson families a chance to update their family photos while also supporting their school.
One of our session days took us to beautiful Gum Grove Park, where we spent the day meeting family after family. Each family had 10 minutes in front of the camera, which might sound short, but it was amazing how much fun we could pack into those few minutes!
After their session, families received a gallery of their images and had the option to choose two favorites to keep, with the opportunity to purchase the full gallery as well.
The best part of the day wasn't just taking the photos—it was getting to know so many of the wonderful families who are part of our kids' school community. We saw lots of familiar faces, met families we hadn't had the chance to know yet, and had plenty of laughs along the way.
There is something really special about photographing people you see at school drop-off, on the playground, at school events, or around the neighborhood. It makes these sessions feel less like a typical photo shoot and more like spending time with friends and neighbors.
We are so grateful to everyone who came out, trusted us with their family photos, and helped make the fundraiser such a fun success. Supporting our kids' school while doing something we love was truly the best combination.
And, of course, Gum Grove Park gave us a beautiful backdrop for all of those happy, playful family moments!
We can't wait for the next opportunity to photograph more of our amazing Hopkinson families.
